Patents rights are essential to PDS Biotechnology Corporation’s business and competitive position. PDS’s technology was initially developed at the University of Pittsburgh and was acquired by PDS in 2006. PDS's lead patent was issued on December 4, 2007 and covers the use of the Versamune™ technology in inducing immune responses to treat diseases. Additional international patents covering the other uses of the Versamune™ nanoparticle technology in oncology and infectious disease have been filed and others are in the process of being developed.
