Immunotherapies to treat infectious diseases

Future applications of PDS’s Versamune™ technology include the development of effective therapies to cure and to prevent various viral infections such as hepatitis, HIV and herpes as well as life threatening antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as staphylococcus and streptococci. Parasitic infections such as malaria are also potential targets for the technology. The worldwide market for anti-viral drugs and anti-infective drugs currently exceeds $70 B with an annual growth rate of over 5%.

Initiation of PDS’s anti-infective immunotherapy pipeline will occur in 2010.
